Margo was working as a designer in Forrester Creations. She was secretly having a crush on her boss, but ended up in an intimate relationship with his son Ridge shortly after starting her work in the fashion house in 1985. When in 1987 Ridge started seeing Caroline Spencer Margo told Bill Spencer Sr. that his daughter's boyfriend is trouble. When Margo heard that Ridge and Caroline are getting married she was in shock and she told her former lover that he can't marry Caroline only for lust. She was scared that Ridge is rushing only because Caroline wanted to wait with sex until her wedding day. During the wedding ceremony Caroline faints. Bill confessed to Margo that his daughter felt bad because he found out that Ridge was cheating on Caroline and he told her about it. Margo and Bill started having an intimate relationship and Spencer tells Lynley that he doesn't want Caroline to end up with a cassanova like Ridge. At one point Ridge tried to seduce Margo again, but she rejected him. Shortly after Margo realizes that she is in fact interested in Ridge much to Bill's disappointment, but in the end she also came to a conclusion that Ridge would just use and dump her all over again.
