Storyline:[]
Taylor's daughter Phoebe Forrester and Rick were dating for some time. They had problems and Phoebe broke up with Rick because she thought that she's not ready for a relationship. Phoebe left town and Rick was sad for a while. Taylor and her husband Nick Marone broke up and she was depressed. Rick was comforting her and fell in love with her. Phoebe suddenly came back to town and expressed that she still loves Rick and wants him back, but it was already too late. Phoebe is shocked when she caught Taylor and Rick in bed. Taylor's daughter yelled in her face that her mother knew how she felt about Rick. The young girl was unable to accept that her mother and her first love were having sex. Taylor decided to leave Rick immediately to not hurt her daughter, but after some time Phoebe gave Rick and her mother her blessing and the two got engaged. Brooke was livid that her son was in a relationship with her biggest rival, who was much older than him. When Brooke and Ridge had problems in their relationship Taylor decided to leave Rick as she understood that she still loves her ex husband. Brooke was furious with Taylor for using Rick and breaking his heart. After some time Phoebe visited Taylor and told her that it's nice to visit her now that she's not sleeping with Rick. Taylor was horrified as she thought that Phoebe already made peace with her and Rick's past. On the day of Ridge and Brooke's wedding day Phoebe entered Rick's car. They were going to the reception and Phoebe started going off on Rick for starting a relationship with her mother. She explained how he tainted her first love experience with his actions. Taylor's daughter demanded that Rick stop the car, but he refused so she started scratching him and she accidentally pushed the gas pedal instead of stop which caused an accident. Phoebe's seatbelt wasn't on so she was thrown out of the car. Phoebe died and her family blamed Rick. The only person from her family that didn't view Rick as the guilty one was Phoebe's twin sister, Steffy Forrester. Not long after Steffy was in a relationship with Rick and they even got engaged for some time.
