Relationship with Dylan and friendship with Jasmine (1995–1996)[]
In June 1995, when Dylan Shaw is looking for a roommate to live with, he meets a candidate named Michael. When they meet, he is horrified to discover that Michael is a woman. However, he decides to accept this state of affairs and befriends her. Michael accepts his invitation for dinner. During the evening, the girl persuades him to get to know Maggie Forrester, Jessica Forrester's mother. Shaw follows her advice and Michael befriends Jessica herself.
In July 1995, Michael is surprised to see that Dylan has invited Maggie to their apartment. Soon, Dylan confides in Michael about his problems. He confesses that he loves both Jessica and her mother. He can't choose which one he wants to be with. Michael urges him to make the final decision.
In September 1995, Michael's friend Jasmine Malone suggests to her that she should get interested in flirting with Dylan. During the next meeting, Michael decides to follow her friends advice and she kisses Dylan. He clearly enjoys it. The girl wants to seduce the handsome young man at all costs. First, however, she decides to try to win the affection of an extremely handsome lawyer, Connor Davis. To prevent Jessica from finding out about Dylan's affair with her mother, Michael convinces her that she herself is the second woman in Dylan's life. Dylan is grateful to her for keeping his secret. A romance develops between the roommates, and eventually they both bond with each other.
In November 1995, Michael discovers that Sally Spectra has stolen the designs from the Forresters. Spectra tells the girl to be silent. In exchange for silence, Michael receives an offer of a job as a model at the Spectra fashion house. Lai, however, is torn. Eventually, though, she agrees. The girl tells Connor that Sally may have stolen the designs from the Forresters. Davis urges her to talk to Eric Forrester. They both inform him that Sally has copies of his sketches. The man is shocked and decides to prevent Spectra from releasing them. He also decides to teach Sally a lesson. Michael informs Dylan about the whole thing and reveals that Eric now plans to have fun at Spectra's expense by seducing her. When the day of the "Spectra" fashion show arrives, Eric calls Michael and asks her to delay the show. The girl hopes that the show will not take place and thus Sally's deception will not be exposed. Eric decides to propose to Sally during the fashion show! The show of the fashion house "Spectra" is then canceled.
In January 1996, Michael invites Jessica and Sly for breakfast. She fears that Donovan wants to seduce Forrester for the money. Michael and Dylan warn Jessica about Sly, but she informs them that she has decided to marry him.
In February 1996, Dylan tells Michael that they should end their relationship. The boy adds that he hopes to return to Jessica. However, an outraged Michael refuses to give up without a fight. When Dylan leaves, the girl dresses sexy lingerie and in this state opens the door to a surprised Jessica. Michael tells her rival that she and Dylan will be getting married soon. Eventually Michael tells Dylan that Jessica was looking for him to talk to him. Soon, Jessica confesses to Michael that she wants to teach Dylan a lesson for trying to force her into sleeping with him. She wants to pretend that she got pregnant by him. Michael supports her idea.
In March 1996, Michael catches Dylan and Jessica kissing. When the woman finds out that Shaw invited Forrester to the cinema, she is furious. As it turns out, Shaw owes Michael and Jasmine rent money. The girls threaten the debtor with consequences.
Love for Grant and his shooting case (1996–1997)[]

In April 1996, when Dylan takes a job as a stripper, he asks Michael not to tell Jessica. When Michael starts working as a designer at the Forrester firm, Eric's ex-wife Sheila Carter warns Eric about Stephanie. Michael urges Dylan to quit his job at the nightclub, but he refuses. Soon, Michael meets the new designer of the fashion house "Forrester" Grant Chambers. He warns her about Clark. Chambers accuses him of seducing and breaking the heart of his sister, Kelly Chambers. Garrison tries to deny it as he doesn't want Michael to think badly of him.
In May 1996, Michael meets with Clark to return the wallet he left at the office. She complains that he didn't tell her about working for Sally's company and his affair with Grant's sister. Clarke finally confirms his affair with Kelly, but explains that they couldn't understand each other. Garrison also talks about his relationship with his son, C.J. Garrison, whom he has neglected in recent years. Soon, Michael learns from Grant that he was formerly involved with Taylor Hamilton. Michael and Grant soon spend a romantic evening together. The girl informs Clarke that she has a crush on Grant, then asks Garrison to leave her alone.
In June 1996, Michael wants to move in with Grant to get closer to him and he agrees. The girl talks to Brooke Logan about her feelings for him. The woman shows her support. When Sheila shows up at Grant's apartment, she is surprised to see Michael there.
In July 1996, Michael begins to suspect that Grant is interested in Brooke. The girl finds out from Jasmine that she is in love with Sly.
In August 1996, when Michael finds Brooke and Grant dancing together, she is jealous. Soon, Michael, fed up with uncertainty in her relationship with Grant, decides to move out of his house. Chambers tries to convince her to change her mind.
In September 1996, a man asks her for one more chance. The couple spends the night together. When Stephanie Douglas finds out about this, she warns the girl about Brooke. She suggests that Logan is able to take her man away at any time.
In October 1996, Michael is overjoyed to learn of Brooke and Ridge's marriage plans. She is convinced that Logan has lost interest in Grant. However, Brooke and Ridge break up and the Logan woman ends up engaged to Grant. Brooke asks Grant to be her husband because she wants to make Ridge jealous. Michael is devastated. The girl is afraid that she has lost her beloved forever.
In November 1996, while Michael is still devastated by the news of Grant and Brooke's engagement, Chambers asks her to be understanding.
