John Douglas is the father of Stephanie † and Pamela Douglas. He is the grandfather of Ridge Forrester,Thorne Forrester, Angela Forrester †, Felicia Forrester and Kristen Forrester. He is the great-grandfather of Thomas Forrester, Steffy Forrester, Phoebe Forrester †, R.J. Forrester, Aly Forrester †, Dino Damiano, Zende Dominguez (adoptive). He is also the great-great-grandfather of Douglas Forrester, Kelly Spencer and Hayes Finnegan. On screen he only appeared in Stephanies flashbacks.
Storylines[]
John abused his daughter Stephanie Douglas and his wife Ann Douglas never said anything about it. After many years when John was deceased, Stephanie comes to Chicago with her husband Eric Forrester to confront Ann about it not stopping the abuse. Initially Ann denied the abuse and said Stephanie was exaggerating John's discipline but finally Ann admitted she knew about the abuse and hoped it would end because she was too afraid to confront her husband.
When he was alive he made a deal with Eric Forrester that he will lend money to him only if Eric's company will belong 100% to his daughter Stephanie Douglas. Eric agreed, but was hiding this fact from his wife for many years.
In 2005, Katherine Chancellor, who was a longtime business associate of Stephanies father, revealed that John didn't trust Eric and had created a trust at the inception of Forrester Creations making Stephanie the sole owner of the company. Stephanie fired several employees, including Brooke Logan and Eric and made her younger son Thorne Forrester President. Stephanie would later dissolve her trust and split the shares between all of her children, Eric, Taylor Hamilton and Brooke.
