Storyline:[]
In 1996, James meets Maggie Forrester. The couple fall in love with each other over time. Sheila Carter realizes that she has also fallen in love with James who was her therapist at the time. Margaret and her fought over him and Carter spent an intoxicating night with him. The fruit of this night is a child. Sheila interrupts James and Maggie's wedding. She announces that she is pregnant with Warwick. The spouses offer her a joint flat, and after the child is born, they want to adopt him or her. The couple had problems when Margaret was seeing her friend Curtis and telling him about her problems. Desperate, Sheila signs adoption papers and leaves in 1997. James and Maggie get Sheila's daughter and they name her Mary to honor James's deceased mother. Soon, Maggie and James hire a babysitter, Amber Moore. As it turns out, the girl is friends with Sheila and lets her see the baby. Amber revealed the truth to James. After some time Sheila won Mary's custody. Warwick decides to fight for his daughter. He moves in with Sheila to prove that she is unfit to be a mother. The woman, however, loses her trust in him and sets tough conditions: James has to divorce Maggie and he is to marry her in a month. Margaret convinces her husband that he must do whatever it takes to get Mary back. James is getting married to Sheila. After the wedding, Mike Guthrie informs Sheila of James and Maggie's plan. Devastated Carter tries to commit suicide by jumping off the roof. Unexpectedly, she sees James next to her, professing his love. Sheila ends up in a hospital and Maggie is furious that James confessed love to her. She was so angry that she turns off the life-sustaining device. Sheila is saved and Margaret is arrested. Soon after, Maggie meets a sad Mike. The man is devastated because his beloved Sheila has decided to stay with Warwick. Maggie and Mike decide to separate James and Carter. To achieve it Mike kidnaps the woman he loves and tells Warwick that his wife has left him. Unfortunately, Maggie fails to win the favors of her ex-husband. Sheila manages to escape, but Maggie and Mike find her and imprison her again. Soon after, James manages to find his wife and frees her. Sheila wants Maggie to go to jail however James convinces her that he believes his ex-wife should receive therapy. Sheila agrees to drop the charges.
