After nearly two years off the canvas, Cassandra Creech returns as Dr. Grace Buckingham in 2024. The character, brought on to play Paris and Zoe’s mother in 2022, is a cardiologist. She’ll be involved in Taylor’s newly surfaced heart issues. Creech debuts on October 2, in scenes with Budig's Taylor and Kaye’s Ridge. She also appears on October 3 and 4.
Biography[]
Grace is the mother of Paris and Zoe Buckingham as well as the ex wife of Reese Buckingham. She is a former cardiologist that received a job offer in Los Angeles.
Arrival in LA[]
After receiving a job offer Grace surprises her daughter Paris. Zende helps her to get into the building where two ladies have a happy reunion. Grace praises Zende Dominguez not knowing that her daughter isn't certain about her relationship with him and is secretly crushing on Carter Walton which isn't Grace's favorite after he broke her other daughter's heart. Paris invites Grace to live with her and she agrees so she can spend more time with her daughter.
Grace visits Forrester Creations and is looking for Paris. She meets Zende and expresses how happy she is that he and her daughter are dating. She's surprised when she hears that Zende is going on a date with a Forrester model and explains to her that he and Paris are no exclusive. Grace talks to Paris and wants answers about her dating situation. She's disappointed upon learning that an open relationship was Paris's idea and that she didn't want him to propose to her. Paris tells her that she wants to experience things and isn't ready for this kind of commitment.
Blackmailing Carter[]
One day Grace catches Paris kissing Carter. She waits for Paris to leave and later confronts Carter. She makes it clear she doesn't want him and her daughter to fool around and she would rather see her daughter with Zende. She threatened Carter that if he won't leave Paris alone she will tell Ridge Forrester what he is doing behind the Forrester's back again. Carter does as Grace asks and he breaks things off with Paris. Grace was happy when Carter left Paris and she hoped that her daughter will stay with Zende who she considered a way better match for Paris so it was a shock when Paris told her that not only she and Carter are back together, but they are getting married. Grace told her child that in her opinion it's too fast and it looks like Carter proposed because he is running away from something. Apparently doctor Buckingham was right about her about to be son in law as during the wedding ceremony Quinn Fuller arrived at the scene and confessed her love for Walton. Paris asked her fiance to continue the ceremony, but he choose Quinn because this was the woman he loved, but thought he couldn't have. Paris was heartbroken when she found out that Carter used her as a rebound. Grace and Zende both comforted her.
2024[]
In October 2024 Ridge Forrester and Taylor Hayes visited Grace at the hospital so she can run some tests for Taylor. Grace was shocked to hear that Taylor was diagnosed with heart failure in Europe. Thankfully, after running some tests, Grace determined that the results were good and that Taylor did not have heart failure. Taylor couldn’t believe it. Grace explained that she was actually suffering from broken heart syndrome.
Scheme (2025)[]
Liam Spencer underwent surgery after suffering a brain bleed. Grace informed her colleague, Finn Finnegan, that Liam had an inoperable tumor and was terminally ill. Finn then shared the devastating news with his wife, Steffy, who was at home with Liam and their daughter, Kelly. Steffy was heartbroken to learn that the father of her first child was dying. When Steffy told Liam the truth, he was crushed and in disbelief. As Grace continued to deliver only bad news, Liam became increasingly convinced that he wouldn’t survive. One day, Luna Nozawa, Finn’s unstable daughter, threatened Steffy with a gun. When Liam arrived at the scene, he was shot. In an effort to protect Steffy, he managed to grab the gun from Luna. She taunted him and tried to take the weapon back, so Liam shot her in defense of Steffy. At the hospital, Grace was deeply invested in Liam’s recovery and was relieved when he stabilized after surgery. Liam’s father, Bill Spencer, was devastated to learn not only that his son had been shot but also that he was battling cancer, fact Liam had kept from him. Grace spoke to Bill and told him that Liam had a chance at survival, but the treatment would cost one million dollars. Bill made it clear he would do anything to save his son. Grace and her colleague secretly performed the surgery outside of the hospital. Finn and Bridget Forrester were horrified to discover that Liam had been discharged so soon after such a major procedure. Later, Grace informed Bill and Liam that the tumor had been completely removed. While Liam celebrated the good news, Finn grew suspicious and began to investigate. When confronted, Grace confessed that she had lied and Liam never had a tumor. She admitted that she fabricated the diagnosis in order to get the money to pay off her ex-husband’s gambling debts. Finn and Grace went to see Liam. Hope was there with him, and at first, both acted very grateful until Grace confessed to her crime. Liam tried to attack Grace, but Finn stopped him. Hope slapped Grace, who kept apologizing before Finn took her to the police station.
