Dave and Brooke were in a relationship since episode 1. Dave was a policeman and helped Brooke after some men attacked her and tried to rape her. Soon after Dave, who was very in love with the Logan girl proposed to her. Brooke accepted and they couple was seemingly happy. Brooke met Ridge Forrester, who later became the greatest love of her life and since that time her relationship with Dave started deteriorating. When Dave confronted Brooke about her feelings for Ridge she was honest. The policeman tried for some time, but they eventually called it quits because Brooke was hooked on Ridge who at that time was in love with Brooke's friend Caroline Spencer Forrester however he flirted with Brooke as well.
