Maya and Carter started as co-stars. They played a couple on a sitcom. Maya got a job as an actress thanks to Caroline Spencer II who wanted to have Maya's then boyfriend for herself. Carter fell madly in love with Maya during the recording their hot scenes.
Maya on a rebound[]
Maya was in love with Rick Forrester, but Rick's ex Caroline Spencer II and her uncle Bill Spencer Jr. did everything in their power to keep them apart. Bill threatened the Avant girl. She was supposed to leave Rick or she will go to jail for breaking the restraining order (which Bill orchestrated). Maya breaks up with Rick, but soon after she confessed to both Carter and Rick that Bill blackmailed her. Rick and Maya go back together. Soon after Maya gets hired to play in a sitcom. She got that role only because of Caroline. Rick's ex makes sure that Maya gets a lot of sexy scenes with Carter. Rick is having a hard time watching Maya in these steamy scenes. Carter falls in love with Maya during the recordings and decides to reveal his feelings to her. Maya rejects him and stays with Rick. Maya is hurt when Rick can't come to her sitcoms premiere and Carter comforts her. He kisses her and he sleeps on her couch. Rick apologizes to Maya and she doesn't reveal to him that Carter kissed her and slept in her flat because she wants to do it after a fashion show. Caroline found out and told Rick the truth. Rick is hurt and doesn't want to listen to Maya. He allows Caroline to comfort him. When Maya tries to talk with Rick Caroline opens the door and hints that she and Rick made love. Maya is very hurt and rebounds with Carter. She also leaves Forrester creations. Soon after Carter proposed and Maya accepted however she told Dayzee Leigh Forrester that she can't forget about Rick. She wanted him back, but found out that he got engaged to Caroline.
Oliver[]
Maya started working at Forrester Creations again after Rick requested it. One day Oliver Jones kisses her, but she refuses his advances because she wants to be loyal to Carter. Soon after Maya see's Oliver flirting with Aly Forrester. She thinks that Oliver is using Aly and she starts being all in their business which annoys Carter.
Maya pursuing Rick behind Carter's back[]
Maya was trying to seduce Rick in the sauna. Rick told Carter about it and he breaks thing off with Maya. After that Maya didn't stop pursuing Rick even when he was already married to Caroline. Maya started hinting that Caroline's and Ridge's cooperation is fishy. Carter tried to convince Maya to stop with her suspicions, but Maya spies on them and see's Caroline and Ridge in a compromising situation. She reveals what she saw to Rick and he confronts his wife and Ridge. They reveal that they have kissed a couple of times. After that Rick divorces Caroline and starts dating Maya again.
Maya's secret[]
Maya's secret about her being born as a man is revealed. Carter is shocked that he didn't notice anything. He is angry and wants Maya to reveal the truth to Rick before they tie the knot. After some time Carter told Maya that he can't forget about her and he tried to win her back from Rick one last time however Maya chose Rick again.
