Storylines[]
In March 1991, Ruth's friend Adam Banks makes a big impression on Stephanie. Soon, Ruthanne arranges a meeting for them together where they kissed each other. Both Adam and Stephanie started developing feelings for one another. Adam revealed to Stephanie that he was once a teacher. Soon, Stephanie and Ruth lose their homes and spend the night on the street. Adam discovers Stephanie's true identity through announcements of her disappearance. Despite Douglas' protests, Ruth takes her to her home in Beverly Hills.
In April 1991, Ruth and Adam visit Stephanie and convince her to stay with her family. Douglas gradually regains his memory, but only tells Banks about it.
In May 1991, Ruthanne visits Stephanie, who offers her to live with her on her estate. The woman asks for time for reflection, but later refuses. Also in May 1991 Adam shows up at Stephanie's and confesses that he has not visited her because he has fallen in love with her. When Brooke arrives, Stephanie kisses Adam. The man thinks she did it for show, but Stephanie convinces him that he is important to her.
In July 1991 Stephanie invites Banks to a Fourth of July party and they kiss again.
In March 1992, Adam and Ruthanne are invited by Stephanie, who explain to them that she wants to run a program to help the homeless and and offers them to organize a charity event together with her. Adam agrees to attend a big fancy dress party.
In December 1992, Stephanie explains to Ruthanne that Adam couldn't come to the Christmas party because he was too busy. Ruthanne asks her friend if she is dating someone to which Stephanie replies that she has just ended her relationship with Jack Hamilton. She is surprised when she discovers the presence of uninvited Brooke at the party.
In February 1993, Stephanie confesses to Ruthanne that he hopes to reunite with Eric after his divorce with Brooke. When Stephanie confesses that she wants to learn more about her new rival and Eric's fiancée, Sheila Carter, Ruthanne offers her help. Owens goes to Eric for an interview where he tries to explain to him that he and Stephanie now have a chance for a new life.
